As the S.Y. Group representative I led the discussions with the Suleja Smart City Company regarding solar, smart city elements and funding.
Suleja Smart City is expected to be “a sustainable city that will efficiently improve urban functions such as administration, transport, logistics, crime and disaster prevention, energy, environment, water management, housing, and welfare, and resolve habitat challenges by adopting Information and Communication Technologies and Green Technologies in urban spaces”.
It will be an urban area that uses different types of electronic methods and sensors to collect data. Insights gained from that data will be used to manage assets, resources, and services efficiently; in addition, that data will be used to improve the operations across the city. This includes data collected from citizens, devices, buildings, and assets that will be processed and analyzed to monitor and manage traffic and transportation systems, power plants, utilities, water supply networks, waste, crime detection, information systems, schools, libraries, hospitals, and other services.
Suleja Smart City concept will integrate information and communication technology (ICT), and various physical devices connected to the Internet of things (IoT) network to optimize the efficiency of city operations and services and connect to citizens.
This technology will allow city officials to interact directly with both community and city infrastructure and to monitor what is happening in the city and how the city is evolving. ICT will be used to enhance the quality, performance, and interactivity of urban services, reduce costs and resource consumption, and increase contact between residents and managers. It will therefore be prepared to respond to challenges with a simple “transactional” relationship with its citizens.
