Some careers are built along a straight line of steady corporate promotions, and then there are careers like Gianluca Di Caro’s—forged in the white heat of motorsport competition, tempered in the high-stakes theatre of international diplomacy, and anchored by a relentless drive to solve humanity’s most complex infrastructural and humanitarian challenges.
Born in December 1954 and based in London, Di Caro’s journey spans more than five decades of pioneering enterprise. Whether he is piloting a Top Fuel Dragster down a quarter-mile strip, orchestrating high-stakes rescue missions in conflict zones, or positioning multi-billion-dollar clean-tech portfolios for sovereign governments, his life has been defined by a singular, unyielding premise: when systems break down or fail to exist, build them from the ground up.
Chapter I: The Velocity Years (1973–1988) From Roadside Rescue to Motorsport Mastery
Long before boardrooms and presidential palaces called his name, Di Caro mastered the art of high-pressure logistics on the roads of the United Kingdom. Starting with a single breakdown recovery vehicle, he rapidly scaled his vision to build the largest vehicle recovery and transportation company in the South of England—and the second-largest of its kind nationwide. His operational footprint expanded to managing heavy commercial repairs, body shops, and critical accident recovery on the always busy M4 Motorway via the Heston Service Area Garage that he leased.
His passion for high performance naturally spilled over into motorsport. Under the TCR Racing banner, Di Caro built, owned, and engineered professional racing teams competing at the absolute pinnacle of motorsport, including Group C (Le Mans) and Top Fuel Drag Racing. Piloting his own Top Fuel Dragster across European championships, his career on the track came to an abrupt, life-altering halt following a major explosion and crash at Long Marston Raceway in 1987.
True to form, retirement did not slow him down; it merely shifted his gear. Partnering with fellow racer Mike ‘Kerby’ Kason, he conceived The Supercharged Outlaws—a specialised racing series for vintage supercharged dragster in the late 1980’s and launching internationally at the 1992 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, the concept struck a chord worldwide, eventually merging into the Nostalgia Drags framework that continues to run across Canada and Australia to this day.
Chapter II: The Art of Influence (1988–1996) Sovereign Communications and European Integration
Transitioning from motorsport engineering to corporate communications, Di Caro co-founded the CMES Advertising & PR Group alongside novelist Cheryl Mildenhall. Operating across London, Leicestershire, and wider Europe, the agency quickly earned the trust of blue-chip giants like GEC Alsthom, Couture, HP Sauces, and Trunature.
GEC Alsthom: This major Anglo-French joint venture (specialising in rail transport, power generation, and infrastructure) became a flagship multinational account for CMES. The agency provided business-to-business (B2B) marketing and technical PR support, a notable feat for a regional agency based out of a Leicestershire village.

HP Sauces: CMES handled international advertising and promotional initiatives for this quintessential British staple
Couture: The agency took on creative art, layout design, and public relations for this prominent hosiery and fashion brand
Trunature: (now known as TruNet) CMES Advertising & PR played a pivotal role in scaling Trunature’s industrial presence through the creation of award-winning B2B marketing and exhibition materials.
His strategic acumen caught the attention of the British Government, which directly commissioned CMES to craft complex, multi-lingual campaigns spanning pre- and post-1992 horizons, including landmark national communications during the UK’s European Community Presidency. Seeking to unify the continent’s fragmented media landscape, Di Caro forged a strategic alliance with German advertising titan Hellmann & Hunke GmbH in 1990, helping establish B.E.S.T. in Europe as the continent’s very first fully unified pan-European agency networks.
Chapter III: Shadows and Blueprints (1996–2010) Breakthroughs and Megaprojects
The late 1990s and 2000s saw Di Caro operating at the intersection of high-stakes media and mega-infrastructure development through JustListen2This & Media Portfolios.
Sunset Shores Haiti Resort Megaproject (2006–2007): Invited by financial mogul Richard Hone to join the executive board as the creative director of Sunset Shores, a major master-planned resort near Port-au-Prince, Di Caro helped engineer its core conceptual framework. He successfully brokered communications with President Bill Clinton’s Clinton Foundation to integrate vital civil infrastructure—including hospitals and schools—alongside zero-emission solar and wave-powered water generation systems, before the initiative was tragically halted by the 2007 regional earthquake.
Revitalising a Legend: Demonstrating his flair for cultural regeneration, Di Caro developed the master strategy to transform the historic Smokin Joe Frazier’s Gym in North Philadelphia into a premier international sports venue and cultural museum, securing $5.5 million in development guarantees from elite corporate figures before the project was halted due to Mr. Frazier’s sudden hospitalisation.
Chapter IV: The Architect of Global Combat Sports (2011–Present) Institutional Governance and Humanitarian Rescue
While Di Caro’s corporate reach spans heavy industry, his name is globally synonymous with the structural reform and modernisation of professional combat sports.
Founding BIBA: In April 2016, he founded the British & Irish Boxing Authority (BIBA), authoring its landmark strategic plans and revolutionising ringside fighter safety, brain trauma tracking, and neurological evaluations to set new international benchmarks. Under his leadership, BIBA partnered with Player+ to stream events into over 500 million homes worldwide.
Historic Milestones: At the personal request of two-time World Champion Amir Khan, Di Caro co-developed and licensed Pakistan’s historic first-ever professional boxing event in Karachi in 2016. Crucially, event revenues were channeled into the Amir Khan Foundation to build critical clean water wells across the drought-stricken Tharparkar desert.
Historic Milestones 2: During the COVID Pandemic Di Caro joined forces with six time, five division World Champion Lee Mcallister to create and co-fund a series of ‘Behind Closed Doors’ events under the banner of Let Battle Commence. In order to ensure a safe environment for the boxers, officials and broadcast team the dynamic duo took over the Northern Hotel in Aberdeen for the duration of the pandemic. The 4th April 2021 event “Let Battle Commence: The Lionesses” was a historic, all-female professional boxing event, the first in the UK, that reached a global audience via a free-to-view broadcast stream on FITE.TV, Beyond the fighters, BIBA made further history by utilising the UK’s first-ever all-female officiating and regulatory team, featuring supervisor Alejandra Ramirez, referee Carla Fox, chief inspector Jenny Boyle, inspectors Michelle Pennington and Erica Higgins, and timekeeper Emma Truepenny.
Global Governance: Serving as Chairman of the Global Board for the Association of Professional Boxing Commissions (APBC), Di Caro has spearheaded international expansion, establishing permanent regional headquarters in Accra, Ghana, to elevate sports governance across the African continent. His advisory footprint spans the globe, having architected national boxing commissions from absolute inception for Afghanistan (at the request of President Hamid Karzai), the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Sierra Leone, and Mauritius.
The APBC is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) through which the Commissions that regulate the Sport of Professional Boxing World-wide are able to cooperate and discuss, as well as introduce regulations for the betterment of the Sport and those that compete, especially within the realms of Licensing and Medical Standards, Ringside Health & Safety, Sanctioning and Competition Rules & Regulations.

High-Stakes Geopolitical Extraction (2021–Present): When Kabul fell to the Taliban in 2021, Di Caro’s life took an intensely humanitarian turn. He rapidly assembled and funded an elite tactical extraction team of former SAS and Delta Force operators to successfully evacuate Afghan boxing federation leaders to Kazakhstan, and secured political asylum in France for the Afghan national amateur team that had competed at the IABA World Finals in Serbia. He continues to coordinate perilous border extractions to this day.
Chapter V: Engineering a Sustainable Tomorrow (2022 – 2026): Creating a green future
Gianluca Di Caro operated at the absolute frontier of global clean technology and sovereign infrastructure. Requested directly by His Excellency Tarek Bin Laden to architect, create, and build S.Y. Capital Holdings Limited, Di Caro interfaces directly with state ministries, enterprise boards, and Royal Family networks across the MENA region, Africa, and Asia.
Positioning next-generation portfolios within the capital structures of master plans like Saudi Vision 2030, his work centres on macro-scale survival and security frameworks:
Utility-Scale Clean Energy: End-to-end commercialisation of large-scale solar PV fields, advanced dual-use agri-voltaic setups, and resilient marine floatovoltaic grids designed to curb reservoir evaporation.
Water Resource Security: Spearheading the development Solar Powered Reverse Osmosis (RO) and fully autonomous containerised Solar Powered Microwave Plasma Reactor (MPR) Desalination Plants, alongside chemical-free Ionospheric Climate Modification (ICM) precipitation enhancement frameworks to combat drought in hyper-arid corridors.
