- Pioneering Health & Safety Standards: Spearheaded revolutionary advancements in ringside fighter safety, brain trauma tracking, and baseline neurological evaluations, surpassing traditional domestic compliance codes to set gold-standard international safety benchmarks.
- Exceptional Board Recruitment: Handpicked and recruited a world-class, multi-disciplinary administrative network consisting of the BIBA Executive Committee, Championship Committee, specialised Event Inspectors & Supervisors, and a highly renowned Ringside Medical Officer & Medical Advisory Board.
Institutional State-Building & Sovereign Mandates
Gianluca’s operational footprint extends deep into sovereign advisory and institutional reform, often operating at the direct behest of heads of state and government ministers to establish rigorous legal, medical, and administrative frameworks.
- The Afghan Presidential Mandate (2017): At the express request of the President of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, Gianluca was called upon to design, structure, and launch a formal national professional combat sports administration. Working alongside BIBA, he formalised the Afghanistan Professional Boxing Commission (APBC) to shift fighters away from unregulated circuits and integrate them into global safety and medical standards.
- International Commissions: Routinely commissioned by sovereign leaders and international bodies to establish national governing bodies from the ground up. Notable achievements include architecting frameworks for the TRNC Professional Boxing Commission at the request of Deputy Prime Minister Kudret Özersay, alongside structuring institutional frameworks for authorities in Mauritius, Sierra Leone, Kazakhstan, and Malta.
Pioneer of Regulation: Motorsport & Football Foundations
Gianluca’s expertise in navigating complex legal landscapes, health and safety protocols, and regulatory frameworks began decades before his tenure in combat sports administration:
- The Supercharged Outlaws (1988): Co-created the iconic Supercharged Outlaws drag racing series at Silverstone in 1988. This pioneering role required authoring comprehensive health and safety codes, managing complex venue logistics, and navigating stringent motorsport regulations to ensure absolute participant and spectator safety in high-speed, high-risk environments.
- Parva United & Football Association Compliance (1990): Handled the intricate legalities, drafted formal club presentations, and navigated official association regulations when officially registering Parva United with the Football Association, establishing early expertise in corporate governance and institutional alignment within team sports.
